Guinea-Bissau

From Wikipedia :

Guinea-Bissau, officially the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, is a country in western Africa, and one of the smallest nations in continental Africa. It is bordered by Senegal to the north, and Guinea to the south and east, with the Atlantic Ocean to its west. Formerly the Portuguese colony of Portuguese Guinea, upon independence, the name of its capital, Bissau, was added to the country's official name in order to prevent confusion between itself and the Republic of Guinea.

As of 2007, Guinea-Bissau has become a transshipment point for illicit drugs from Latin America to points in Europe and North America [1].

Possible Karotechia connections

With the non-canonical elimination of the Karotechia compound La Estancia, it could be speculated that Reinhard Galt and whatever else remains of the Karotechia are based out of a cargo ship anchored in the Bissagos Islands. In this timeline, they make expeditions to the largely uninhabited islands for recreation and gathering food, and work as mercenaries, guarding or hijacking drug shipments and warehouses, and dealing with local officials who can't be bought off cheaply enough. Galt also maintains irregular contact with those former Bauern who are now employed by various private security companies around the world. Galt may one day encounter the natives of Orango Island, which seems to be run by a matriarchy [2] and may have links to Shub Niggurath.

Another possible connection is described in Train 198 to Churchill, Manitoba.
