THE ARRIVAL
Three shipping containers arrived at the Oregan Zoo a week ago. Within them was what are believed to be the last of an endangered species of albino apes. A new enclosure had been created for them, and on Monday they were going to be unveiled as a new attraction.
Sunday afternoon they broke out of their enclosure, and started murdering people and other animals.
THE COVER
The Program knows what they are. They are known as White Apes, and they are far more cunning and savage than any other creature in that zoo.
A cover was quickly created regarding active shooters in the zoo. As far as anyone can tell, all guests and workers have cleared the zoo.
Anyone claiming to have seen the apes themselves have been taken to give witness statements. The spin is that they got too much heat, had too much to drink, too much excitement, etc. Of course you saw an ape, you're in a zoo.
THE OPERA
Your agents are tasked with stopping the White Apes before they escape into the city. These are far more intelligent than the average apes found in zoos. They scavenge battlefields, have been known to carry primitive stone weapons, and wear trophies of their kills.
In addition to the apes, other animals will have gotten loose as well. The Portland Zoo is home to crocodiles, monkeys, tigers, bears, elephants, lemurs, cheetahs, cougars, snakes, lions, as well as a number of lizards and birds.
And of course, just because the police think the place is clear, doesn't mean there can't be tourists hiding somewhere.
Currently, the apes are enjoying themselves rampaging through the zoo, killing animals and people indiscriminately. But eventually they'll find their way out into the city of Portland.
THE APES
There are 8 White Apes, and one Greater White Ape. The Greater White Ape leads the others, and is intelligent enough to understand tactics and traps.
