Possible Floorplans

WHAT'S HAPPENING?

This single-session scenario takes place in any large city, in the present day. It focuses on a single tall apartment building, and what is happening with the occupants. This is several quick interviews, some snooping, and an escape adventure through a series of weird rooms.

Agents investigate a series of small weird happenings and bullshit crimes in a large condo building. Along the way they constantly run into helpful guile-free friendly rats who've been living all Borrowers-style in the walls, whose origins trace back to a witch living in on the top floor. All the weirdness and murders trace back to her, too, which the mundane cops will immediately shoulder in on. A big squad of police extras follows them up to the penthouse. She monologues and attacks hard with tooth and claw and screeching spells, and is easily slain. Job done, yeah?

Nah. The lights cut out. The rats set up all the crimes and most of the weirds, because they want more than just the drips and drabs of her powers. They want it all, and the investigators just gave it to them. Cackling and coughing in a darkened room, and giant red eyes, dozens of them, blinking open above them. The Agents and the cops have all been shrunk to the size of rats and the rats are the size of people. One of the cops hogs out the pin from a full-sized flashbang that was on the floor and the tiny humans dogpile into a hole in the wall. Agents must get the hell out of the building, tumbling through the walls and secret rat-furnished Borrower rooms, while the rats laugh about their plans and toy murderously with them! Many extras will suffer gruesome fates. Each Borrower room might take 3-5 turns to traverse.

If they make it out and burn the building, they're "successful" but have no way to embiggen (it could wear off eventually with a lenient GM) and any surviving cops need to be dealt with one way or another; welcome to Tiny Operative Status, have fun with any home scenes! If the Agents don't escape, the ratmen go on to form a cult in the sewers and a tech startup for a mythos hookup app after slaughtering everyone in the building.

Small Weird Happenings: strange noise complaints, odd problems in the plumbing and the ducts, animal sacrifices

Bullshit Crimes: vandalism, theft, public urination, and finally ritual murders

-=-

Tear A Hole: allows Baleful Eye next turn

Baleful Eye: +40% to next attack roll

Smash! (20% to hit, 1d4 damage): a fist, foot or club fills the room, targeting potentially everyone. Badly damages the room.

Scything Claws (20% to hit, 1d6 damage, 5 AP): rat claws burst through the wall and rake through up to three characters and tears a section out of the room.

Rat Size Human:

Can lift 4x a rat's bodyweight

Can fall 4x a rat's height without damage
