Title: Pseudocyesis
1. SITUATION:
Early on December 24, 2024, the agents’ Handler urgently contacts the cell with a terse order: travel immediately to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) for a tasking. The Handler will not give details by cellphone, but offers premium airline tickets insisting speed is important
Upon arrival at ORD, the agents meet the Handler in a private boardroom near the hangars, where the truth emerges. His sister, Linda, works at the St. Dennison group home in Galena, Illinois. Early morning she called in panic. A sixteen-year-old had recently been admitted. She claims she is pregnant and about to give birth, yet doctors confirm she has never been pregnant. But a doctor has observed signs that something unnatural is occurring within her. Staff are terrified. Handler cannot attend due to another active operation. A Rental car and false State Police Crimes against Children task force identification is supplied.
This is off the books, and not sanctioned by anyone.
2. MISSION:
Meet Emily Esther Grant:
Emily is a frail and neglected 16 year old girl. She arrived in the town of Galena, Illinois on December 20, 2024. If asked she hitchhiked.
With parents out of the picture. Emily was found malnourished and begging near a grocery store by Sheriff's Deputy J. Doody on December 21, 2024.
After finding her, Deputy Doody took her to St. Mary's Rural hospital, Emily insisted she was pregnant, although examination by Dr. Leonard Price confirmed otherwise. However, Emily would describe in depth, her “Childs,” needs, as she was ecstatic and happy. This raised concerns of mental illness and she was held for observation.
That night, Emily reported to the nurse's cramps and contractions. When seen by nurses, Emily was seen to writhe as shadows moved under her skin, faint lullabies were heard echoing from her room, with no visible source.
December 21, 2024, scans were done of Emily by the consultant radiologist Dr. O’Connell, he refused to examine Emily further. See HANDOUT 01.
The evening of December 22, 2024, Emily was transferred to St Dennison Group Home. She is believed to be medically fit but needed housing, until a decision was made about her.
3. EXECUTION:
What is happening:
Galena is a small historic town. but this can be set anywhere rural.
Emily is a victim. Homeless, she was attacked by something.
She now carries not a child but an eldritch parasite, a half‑formed growth that thrives on emotional bonds. The creature mimics innocence with a toddler‑like size, waxy skin, and unblinking glassy eyes, yet hides needle teeth behind a too‑wide mouth. It crawls like an infant but scuttles when threatened, exuding a honey‑sweet scent to mask decay. Feeding on fear and conflict, it manipulates Emily into obsessive protectiveness, whispering devotion, giving love. To outsiders it appears doll‑like, but it spreads paranoia, hallucinations, and nightmares. Compulsive attachment is generated to ensure the parasite’s survival.
It moves in phases:
1. Manifestation:
a. Emily insists it speaks to her, cooing like an infant. She is happy, content, and finally loved.
b. it lives in her, moving slowly like spreading oil in shadows under her skin.
c. At night, the mass projects hallucinations around Emily, feeding on fear.
2. Escalation:
a. Early: Emily craves salt, it leaves her like a shadow to get her food, unnatural music is heard.
b. Mid: the shadows move under her skin, visible to others.
3. Completion:
a. it births itself violently, by exuding through her pores like oil, it becomes a physical Broodling. It will try to escape and find more victims to spread its spawn. Emily will become a screaming wreck trying to protect the child.
See BROODLING STAT BLOCK.
At St Dennison Group Home:
On December 24, 2024, in the evening agents arrived at a tense shelter. Emily has been there two days: first night brought ghostly lullabies, and unease, second night roaming shadows, and food clawed from the fridges. By day two, Social Worker Jessie Whitfield confided Emily’s disturbing medical records to Father Kelly, word spread, and Linda called her brother for help.
Description of Group Home:
Built in 1884 as a Catholic orphanage, the site became a Family Services group home in the 1970s. Located on Galena’s outskirts, it shows decay: red brick, ivy, iron gates, drafty windows. Inside, narrow halls and creaking floors.
Ground Floor:
a. Reception/Office: Case files, old computers, and telephones.
b. Common Room: Worn couches, TV, board games, murals painted by teens.
c. Kitchen/Dining Hall: Industrial appliances, wooden tables, faint smell of bleach.
d. Chapel (repurposed): Used for group therapy.
Second Floor:
The group home holds twenty gendered rooms, though only half are occupied, each with bunk beds and sinks, showers at corridor ends. Emily’s former infirmary room is isolated, secured with reinforced locks. Staff quarters consist of three offices and two overnight bedrooms.
Basement:
Storage: Old orphanage relics — broken cribs, dusty toys, boxes of church records.
Boiler Room: Dimly lit and Teens whisper it is haunted.
NPC’s-Staff;
Director Edward Briggs: Mid 30’s; Bureaucratic, Will absolutely blocks investigators from removing Emily, unless sees a court order.
Youth Worker Alice Hardy, Early 20; s: Snide, but will fight to protect teens.

Maintenance worker Robbie White, ex tenant, Early 20’s: helpful, scared of losing job.
Retired Father Thomas Kelly late 60’s: Lives nearby, volunteers at Group Home. Believes Emily’s “child” is demonic. Has seen the medical records. Will try to hurt Emily if must.
Group home cook Linda Harper. Early 50’; Older sister of Handler, overweight chain‑smoker, secretly terrified, will flee if things get worse.

IT GETS WORSE:
Father Kelly has asked the diocese for help. However, his communications have been intercepted. A four man team will arrive posing as Government agents.
They are from another Delta Green Cell. Their orders are to take Emily, witnesses are optional. Fire is a cleanser.
There was no deconfliction ever conducted. Wires have been crossed. Play it that way.
The team deploys a radio and wifi jammer 60 minutes before confronting PCs, posing as legitimate authorities before attempting assault or kidnapping. They retreat if overwhelmed. One agent, medically trained, carries drugs to sedate Emily. Two rental vehicles support extraction, one equipped with IVs, stretcher, and body bag for transport.

5. SERVICE AND SUPPORT ELEMENTS
HANDOUT01
Radiology Report – Abdominal Ultrasound
Patient: Emily Esther Grant Age: 16 Referring Physician: Dr. Leonard Price Exam Type: Abdominal Ultrasound – Limited
Findings
Mass Location: Central abdominal cavity, anterior to stomach, displacing bowel loops.
Size: Approx. 14 cm diameter, irregular margins.
Composition: Not consistent with cyst, tumor, or standard fetal tissue.
Movement: Possible shifting observed during scan. Mass or shadows responded to the patient's vocalizations (noted correlation between subject speech and internal displacement).
Vascularity: Doppler imaging revealed possible pulsations not consistent with human cardiac rhythm.
Acoustic Shadows: Multiple unexplained shadow artifacts radiating outward from mass, resembling claw‑like projections.
Non‑fetal intra‑abdominal mass of unknown etiology.
The patient exhibits strong psychological attachment, referring to mass as “my child.”
Findings are inconsistent with any known medical pathology.
Radiologist Dr. A O’Connell notes:
“During the scan, the mass shifted toward the probe as if aware of examination. The patient whispered to it, and movement increased. This is not a tumour. It is something else. God help us”.
