Blue is such a calming color. It helps make the world look peaceful at a distance. That's the way it looks on maps. Blue water, brown land, all boxed in by the comforting straight lines we call latitude and longitude. But the closer you get, the easier it is to see that the peaceful appearance is an illusion. There are many dark places on this world, places where no humans have ever set foot. Or if they have set foot, they weren't quite human when they returned.
