The 'unnatural' is simply that which exists that is beyond human understanding. Alien creatures from beyond the stars, god-like entities with the power to reshape reality at will, sentient colours and thought patterns, extra-dimensional invaders, all fit under the category of the 'unnatural'. The unnatural serves as the primary 'antagonist' of Delta Green, as the destruction of unnatural creatures and dismantlement of cults in worship to the unnatural are the bread and butter of most Delta Green operations.
The unnatural, by its very nature, is not well understood and parts of it are entirely unknowable to the human mind. Even Delta Green maintains no central repository of unnatural knowledge - for above all, the unnatural is dangerous. The unnatural, even just the knowledge of it, acts as a destructive force on the human mind, gradually whittling down even the most mentally stable into the gibbering slaves of dark gods. No-one is immune to the destructive effects of the unnatural and it is near impossible to tell when a mind will reach its breaking point after being exposed to it. Fewer than three-thousand individuals across the United States have a working understanding of the unnatural, the vast majority of these having only scratched the surface of the true scale of the unnatural.

There are a wide range of unnatural rituals and hypergeometric spells that can restore a corpse to some semblance of life. These 'zombies' can vary in their detail, some being reduced to animal urges or mindless hunger for blood whilst others can retain full awareness. Zombies can be easily detected by their rotting flesh. The forces that animate the corpse make them stronger and hardier than they were in life, rendering most immune to shock or pain.
